Sweden, We've Got A Problem aka Songs To Avoid In 2007

Anyway i'm sorry to say I nearly didn't hear anything good from Sweden in 2007, except for Johnossi, they rock in my opinion. Usually there were at least 4 or 5 good new acts every year from Sweden. Is it me that missed them or are they really missing this year?

Don't worry, there's still an overabundance of talent. Two great bands from 2007 are The Animal Five and Friska Viljor. Johnossi released their brilliant debut album in Sweden in 2005 and a year later in Europe. They've been busy touring ever since...

I had to vote for My Humps... because it's the most recent of all the shite songs on that list. I also don't really know any of the Swedish ones... probably a good thing!

It is nigh impossible to be successful commercially if you sing in your native language, at least in the states and the UK where the movers and shakers reside. Not saying it is right but it is the harsh reality. Notable exceptions include Sigur Ros but they are only the exception that confirms the rule.

So do I but we are a minority of people who do prefer it that way. Remember when DoJ,D (or V&A for that matter) came out, the number of people that were annoyed that they would not release an English was quite large...

And, as it is the english-speaking forum, we write in English:
